Noelle Johnsen Obituary
She had just turned 17 on Dec. 27, 2011.
An intelligent young woman, Noelle was ready to graduate early from Ballston Spa High School and attend Post University in Connecticut. She had earned a full scholarship and was excited to become an equestrian lawyer.
Noelle's passion was her life path. Her gift, her solace and her joy was working with horses.
Noelle's loving family includes her mother, Melody Scaia; stepdad, Jim Hathaway; her dad, Eric Johnsen; stepmom, Sally Johnsen; and Noelle's stepsiblings, David, Shane and Nicole Hathaway.
Noelle was predeceased by her loving grandparents, Sarah (Minna) and Ed (Papa) Johnsen, Mildred (Nana) Johnsen and Jean (Gram) Franklin.
Noelle also leaves behind her grandparents, Frank Scaia and John and Dale DeMartino; step-grandparents, Papa and Mama Hathaway and Prather and Patricia Palmer; Noelle's loving aunts and uncles, Eddie and Melissa Johnsen, Jenn and Bob Goodfellow, Cathie Joyce, Lori Johnsen, Carlos and Brandie Calderon, Chris and Steph Ward, Bob and Leah Kane, Eric and Johnna Guido, Kris Lee Scaia, Bonnie Scaia, Bonnie Barr and Thad and
Mo Palmer; Noelle's cousins, Danitra and Scaia Calderon, Abby and Cheyenne Ward, Robert Kane III, Gianna Guido, Alex and Tiffany Scaia, Kevin, Jess and Timmy Goodfellow, Christina and Margot Joyce, Keliann Kirby, Ryan and Brady Johnsen and Evan, Tallia and Cole Palmer.
Noelle is survived by many close friends and we thank all of them for their kinship, support and love for our Noelle. She will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, (888) 584-5373.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Contributions can be made to the Noelle Johnsen Memorial Fund at Saratoga National Bank & Trust Co., 91 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Noelle's love of horses will be celebrated with a stall in her name at the Equine Advocates Sanctuary. Any remaining funds will go into the Noelle Johnsen Scholarship Fund.

Noel, you were taken from us way too soon and tragically. I remember when you were little how much joy you brought to all your family and extended family. You were so pretty and happy and vivacious. I don´t understand God a lot, but dear with you being in Heaven now, you´re in a much better place! I know myself and your friends miss you dearly. RIP.

Dear Melody,
David and I just got back from vacation today 1/15 and found out about this horrible tragedy. Memories of Noelle go back a ways and the love of horses she has always had. She was put on this earth to fulfil a plan God had for her and I'm sure that was to spread her compassion,love and determination to care for horses. And she did just that. She had become a beautiful young lady to be proud of.

Melody, reading the words that people wrote about your beautiful daughter, hearing people speak of what a beautiful spirit she had, and her accomplishments i believe she is one of the most beautiful souls to have ever walked this earth.
I am a huge animal lover myself. Dogs are my passion. by your license plate I know that you are too. I just cant think of anything powerful enough to say to express how sad my husband Brian and I were when we learned of Noelle's senseless death. It's just not fair!!!
Melody I know that if something were to ever happen to me, the only way I believe that I could ever rest in peace would be to know that some one would love and care for my dogs as much as I did.
Maybe you can find peace through the being that Noelle loved so dearly, her beautiful horse.

When I see a news report about some unspeakable tragedy that has befallen some family, I find myself thinking...What if that were my child, my parent, my loved one... And then it quickly gets so painful that I have to stop thinking about it. But there is no escaping this monumental and completely crushing loss. I am so utterly devastated for everyone. I have lived long enough to have had some losses as well but I cannot remember ever ever crying so much...

My heart breaks for you all - Noelle beamed like sunshine wherever she went. We had a great couple hour trail ride just before the holidays. We went exploring the woods where there were no trails and she had no problem with going some place new... now - she is in another place of wonder.
