I would like to express my sympathy to the family on Deke's passing. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him during his FBI days dating back to when he was Asst. Director of the Crime Records Division during the Hoover days. No finer gentleman ever graced the halls of the FBI.

I had the opportunity to meet and work with Deke in political activities during the 80's in Beaufort. He was a gentleman all the way around. His wife Barbara is very gracious and a wonderful woman. I will alway cherish the memories of those days.
My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and the entire family during this time of sorrow and grief.
