Corinne Page Obituary

Mrs. Corinne Glover Thompson Page - VIDALIA - Mrs. Corinne Glover Thompson Page, age 79 of Vidalia, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012. She was born in Dublin, GA and was the daughter of the late James Davis and Jeanette Stubbs Glover, Sr. Mrs. Page lived most of her life in Vidalia and graduated from Vidalia High School in 1949. She attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and received her undergraduate degree in 1954 and later earned her Masters from the University of Georgia. She was a teacher and librarian at Vidalia High School until her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Page was an active member of the Vidalia First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Adult Chancel Choir, and served as the Church Historian and Secretary for the Administrative Board for many years. Mrs. Page was a member and co-teacher of the Teenie Rountree Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Robert Thompson, Sr and Arnie R Page, Sr; her son, William Robert Thompson, Jr; her grandson, Scott Andrew Meehan and her brother, James Davis Glover, Jr. Mrs. Page is survived by her daughters, Cathryn Thompson Mitchell (Bill) of Vidalia; Dorothy Lynn Thompson of Atlanta; Elaine Page Giles (Joey) of Vidalia; Luanne Page Miller (Mark) of Vidalia and son, Arnie R Page, Jr (Leigh Anne) of Madison; and grandchildren, Matthew Meehan, Joseph Giles, Justin Giles (Amber), Joshua Giles, Julianne Giles, Russ Page, Kyle Page and Ansley Page; and her three sisters Martha Glover McLeod (John), Julie Glover Dorsey (George), Mary Glover Palmer (Mickey); and also Mary Frances Murchison Pulliam and Joyce Glover Cooksey; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2nd at 11:00 at the Vidalia First United Methodist Church with Reverend David Blalock and Reverend Robert Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vidalia First United Methodist Church Love and Mercy Fund or the Bereavement Fund, P.O. 150, Vidalia, GA 30475.
