Dear Angie,
I was so saddened to hear of Bobby's passing. At the race track, he was always asking me about how his retirement account at the State of Georgia fund was doing. I will so miss giving him an update, but now he has the best retirement plan of all and doesn't have to worry about it any more!! You are in my prayers.

Dear Angie, "Little" Bobby and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Some of my greatest memories are of us all cooking out at the races over the years. I can only smile as I think back! You, along with several others in our racing family, have helped teach me (by example)what friendship is really about. So many times you have comforted my family in times of need. Angie, please allow your large racing family to love and support you during this time. May God bless and bring peace to each of you during this time. Many hugs!!!

Dear Angie and Family,
Our heart goes out to all of you. We have some fond memories of you all...boy are there some "war stories". It is unreal to think that Jerry and Bobby first became aquainted in the early '60s when they raced at drag strips in Effingham, Vidalia, and Savannah. From the days of flagmen at the starting line to today's use of modern computers in race cars(unbelievable). Bobby experienced the dynamic changes in this great sport we love so much. We have always claimed you all as members of our much bigger family - our racing family. Please know that we will truly miss our dear friend. All our love.

Bobby Brooks used to race at my home track, Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip, located on the Georgia-Tennessee line in the mid to late seventies. I took a photo of his car at the first annual NHRA Div.2 Bracket Finals held at Southeastern Dragway, Dallas, Georgia in 1976. If anyone is interested in seeing the photo, email me at: [email protected] and I will send it to you. The last time I saw the Anglia was about 1980 at the Bracket Finals held at Gainsville, Florida. I was there helping Raymond King with his car, the "Vicious Villain" Dodge Demon. We had to run Bobby first round and lost. Raymond King was a new driver and I knew he was in trouble when he lined up against Bobby Brooks. Although I never knew Bobby personally, he was one of my racing heros and my codolences go out to his family.
R.I.P. Bobby.
