Your mother always lightened the atmosphere at the Daughters of Ireland meetings with her quick wit and jokes. She will truly be missed.

We are so sorry and saddened by Vergie's death. She was a great, loving person and always made us laugh a lot when we saw her. She will be missed greatly. Please remember that we have all of you in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Sorry that we could not make it down to attend the services. My sincere condolences to the Mell family. Katie, after my mother passed, when I told you about it, you immediatley took a small angel pin and put it on my shoulder. It was a very kind gesture. I wish that I could return that favor and can do so only in thought being far away. Your Mom was a "special lady". God bless!

To the family of Vergie Mell, My heart goes out to you for the loss of your wonderful mother. I met her several years ago when Freddie was visiting from Texas. He was staying with Vergie and they came to dinner at our home. At that time I knew that I had finally met the funniest woman on earth, beautiful in appearance, but a sense of humor to die for. My late husband, Clyde Anderson, and Freddie and Daisy have been friends forever. You will be rememberd in my prayers, that God will give you the strength needed to deal with your loss on earth, but she's in her Heavenly Home now.

Dear Laura, Vickie, Valerie, Katie, John and family,
All of you and your dear mother have really been through it this past year. Now she is with God and suffers no more. What a gracious lady your mother was, and I was amazed at how, even near the end of her life, she still had her incredible sense of humor. I know the sorrow that all of you must feel right now, and my heart is with you. We will all miss her so very much, but now she is finally at peace. Hopefully, you can take some comfort in this. Dear Family,
Please accept my condolences for the passing of this great loved one. I worked with Vergie at the Tag office and endured a friend for life. She was a wonderful lady and I know you all will miss her. Vergie Mell--you were my Brownie Leader in the 3rd grade and I've loved you since then !! You were the most fabulous storyteller and you had a million stories!! All of Savannah is sad this day, our Vergie has gone home --to stay. Sleep well Vergie--you truly deserve to.
