Wallace Gardner Yopp - SAVANNAH - Wallace Gardner Yopp, 87, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Bernice Weeks Parrott Yopp and his second wife, Mary Chastain Poole Yopp. Gardner was born and raised here in Savannah and was a graduate of Commercial High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II in the Seabees. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 30 years and was the recipient of the Albert Gallatin award for his service. He was a member of the American and Georgia Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Gardner was of the generation that always stepped forward to lend a helping hand to anyone or anything. He is survived by 2 daughters, Stephanie Trask and Lisa Graf both of Savannah, GA; 2 granddaughters, Charlotte Renfrow of Atlanta, GA, and Allison Graf of Savannah, GA; 2 great grandchildren, Beth and David Renfrow of Atlanta, GA; 2 stepdaughters, Barbara Mobley of Jacksonville, FL, and Gail Jarriel of Killeen, Texas; 1 stepson, Rodney Poole of Savannah, GA.
