Elva Klinger Obituary
She was born Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1921, in Valley View, a daughter of the late John Harner and Eva Schucker Harner.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Church, Erdman.
Elva enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, reading and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Leon O. Klinger, passed away in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Leon Klinger Jr.; a daughter, Joy Shadle; a great-granddaughter, Amber Hoke; three great-grandsons, Nicolas Farran, Brent Messner and Brandon Messner; a sister, Elsie Ferree.
She is survived by three sons, Gene Klinger and his wife, Jean, Gratz, James Klinger and his wife, Penny, Harrisburg, and Rodney Klinger and his wife, Brenda, Sacramento; three daughters, Dorothy B. Yeich and her husband, Ray, Mechanicsburg, Diane Mausser and her husband, Harry, Hegins, and Rose Frantz and her husband, Joe, Erdman; a daughter-in-law, Janet Klinger, Gratz; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Harner, Spring Glen; a sister, Betty Klinger, Barry Township; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be made in Zion Lutheran "Klinger's" Cemetery, Erdman. Memorial contributions can be made to Zion Lutheran Church, c/o Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, 48 Main St., Klingerstown, PA 17941. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com.
