Willard Clark Obituary


June 13, 2011

Willard L. Clark, 75, of 1743 W. Main St., Valley View, passed away Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Klingerstown, Oct. 22, 1935, he was a son of the late Calvin and Mazie Shadle Clark.

He worked as a coal miner for the former Herman Bixler Mining Co. He was a coal truck driver for Kenneth Bloch Hauling and Excavating and worked for 27 years at Pine Creek Coal Co.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View; Upper Mahantongo Hunting Club, Klingerstown; Erdman Sportsman's Association; and was a former member of the Valley View Fire Company.

Willard enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott W. Clark; a brother, Francis Clark; a sister, Violet Maurer.

Surviving are his wife, Marie A. Bixler Clark, to whom he was married 52 years; a son, Steve W. Clark and his wife, Kristi, Camp Hill; a daughter, Loriann M. Clark, Valley View; a grandson, Wayne T. Seiger, Donaldson; three granddaughters, Amanda M. Seiger, Valley View, Hailey N. Clark, Camp Hill, and Kearsten L. Clark and her parents, Dale and Tina Tobin, Tremont; three great-granddaughters, Kendra Gerber and Allyza Gerber, both of Tremont, and Addison Maurer, Valley View; a great-grandson, Todd Seiger, Pitman; three brothers, James Clark, Elizabethville, Roy Clark and Dennis Clark, both of Klingerstown; three sisters, Pauline Mace, Dornsife, Mae Neumeister and Joan Bordner, both of Millersburg; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Philip Sabas officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Condolences can be left for the family at www.buffingtonreed.com.
