Kenneth Frie Obituary

Kenneth L. Frie Sr., 84, of Pottsville, died Monday at ManorCare Health Services.

Born in Pottsville, Jan. 30, 1925, he was a son of the late Frank and Erma Mosser Frie.

He graduated from Pottsville High School in 1943 and was employed by ALCOA for 25 years prior to retiring in 1978.

He served with the Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Walter Griffiths AMVETS Post 180, both of Pottsville.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Hummel and Erma Imschweiler; and a brother, Frank.

Surviving are his wife, the former Edna E. Kilmurray, to whom he was married 60 years; a son, Kenneth L. Frie Jr., Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand Jr. officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. on Friday until the time of service. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901, or Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
