George Abrachinsky Obituary

George W. Abrachinsky, 72, of Albrightsville, died Saturday at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

Born in Shenandoah, Jan. 16, 1938, he was a son of the late Mamero and Josephine Lucasavage Abrachinsky,

He attended St. George Parochial School, Shenandoah, and Villanova University.

George was the owner George's Clover Farms Meat market in the Allentown Farmers Market for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Roman Catholic Church, Lake Harmony, where he served as eucharistic minister and church lector. George was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 10772, Lake Harmony.

He was an American Legion baseball coach and served in the Army Reserves.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, the former Rose Ann Melnick; two sons, Mark Abrachinsky and his wife, Lisa, Berlinsville, and Michael Abrachinsky and his wife, Nicole, Walnutport; a daughter, Pam Martin, Emmaus; a brother, Charles Abrachinsky and his wife, Tina, Delaware; two sisters, Mary Jo Doherty and Barbara Raybeck, both of California; four grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, Nathan and Olivia; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter the Fisherman Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Lake Drive, Lake Harmony, with Monsignor John G. Chizmar as the celebrant. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church and again from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Interment will follow the afternoon viewing at 3:30 p.m. at Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., Shenandoah, is in charge of arrangements.
