Jerome C. "Jerry" Menke, 84

St. Cloud

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 13th at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Jerome C. "Jerry" Menke, age 84, of St. Cloud, who died on Friday at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta. Rev Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday between 4:00-8:00 PM at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the Church. Parish Prayers will be on Monday at 5:00 PM.

Jerry was born May 23rd, 1929 in Collegeville to Raymond and Luella (Hansen) Menke. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Jerry married Donna Mae Blonigan on September 1st, 1958 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud and she died on July 20th, 1984. He married Joan (Reisinger) Renn on May 19th, 1989. Jerry was employed in the sheet metal trade for Weidner Plumbing and Heating in St. Cloud for many years. He then was employed for Aer Inc. Jerry retired in 1991. After he retired, he enjoyed many years of travel and volunteering for the church with his wife Joan. Jerry was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Sheet Metal Union #10, Eagles Aerie #622, Knights of Columbus Council #5548, and Waite Park American Legion Post #428.

Jerry had a deep love for his faith, family and friends. His dry wit, generous heart and kindness will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife Joan, children, Michael Menke (Laurie) Woodbury, Mary Adelman (Bryan) St. Cloud and Patrick Menke (Bridget) West St. Paul, stepchildren, Patrick Renn, Rochester and Mike Renn (Laurie) St. Joseph, 9 grandchildren, Tony (Carrie), Andy, David, MaryTherese, Roxanne, Ellen, Josh and Joe Menke and Megan Silbernagel (Anthony), brother and sisters, Luverne Seman (Stephen) Anoka, Dorothy Wollak, Waite Park, Irene Maize, Rochester, LeRoy Menke (Rosemary) St. Cloud, Jean Larson (Dennis) Waite Park, and sister-in-law, Eileen Menke, Waite Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Donna, brothers and sisters, Betty, Virgil and James Menke, and brother-in-laws, Glen Alexander, Doc Maize, and Claude Wollak.

Memorials are preferred.

I just found out this morning, Joan I am so sorry to hear about Jerry. I think I just saw you two in church last week. You and Jerry were very good neighbors and I always liked your flowers that you kept out front of you house.
