Timothy (Ted) John O'Donovan

Born in Cork, Ireland to John and Mary O'Donovan. At 17 he left to see the world and enlisted in the Australian Air Force, served in Germany and participated in the Berlin Air Lift as a navigator and radio man and served all over Southeast Asia. He became an Australian citizen in 1957. He moved on to Churchill, Manitoba where he worked on the DEW Line for 3 years. He became a Ham and enjoyed talking to other Hams around the world.

On a European trip to visit relatives in 1961 he met an American woman from California and in 1962 married in Carmel, California. They were married for more than 53 years. They raised her two sons in San Jose, California where Ted was employed by AT&T and later by Lucent Communications as the manager of Engineering. He was part of the Boeing/AT&T project in Seattle in 1987. He retired in Seattle in late 1989 as Quality Control Manager.

Both Ted and his wife traveled the world and enjoyed their retirement. They were snow-birds, spend-ing their winters in Tucson, AZ.

Ted is survived by his wife Nadine (Koster) O'Donovan , two step-sons Greg Mathews of Walla Walla, and Kevin O'Donovan of Sacramento, Calif, two grand-children, and two great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his two younger brothers.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a good man. There will be a private family service. Donations can be made to your favorite charity or Hospice.
