Annette Fischer Obituary

Annette Cecile Fischer (Baillargeon)

Annette Fischer passed away on March 17, 2017, St. Patrick's Day, at the age of 60 surrounded by her family and friends. Annette was born June 6, 1956 in Seattle, Washington to John "Tom" and Clare Baillargeon. She attended Our Lady of the Lake Elementary School and Nathan Hale High School. She graduated from the Early Child Development Program at North Seattle Community College.

Annette was married to Rod Fischer in 1976 and was blessed with three amazing children; Luke (Kelly) Fischer, Amanda (Kenny) Bernard, Alicia Fischer (Tyson Brown), and four beautiful grandchildren; Ethan, Caroline, Van, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John and her sister Carrie. She is survived by her husband Rod, their three children, four grandchildren, her sister Cathi (Steve) Holiday, brothers Phil (KC) Baillargeon and Joe (Emi) Baillargeon in addition to numerous cousins.

Annette taught pre-school at St. Mark's for 18 years and was an integral part of the St. Mark's community. This was her life's calling and she loved every minute of it. She adored her students, "her kids" as she referred to them, and was well respected and loved by staff and students alike. She would often leave her home only to be approached by past students wanting a hug and offering updates on how they were doing.

Annette was loved by all who knew her. She was always the first to be at a friend's side whenever needed. Her family often asked how she managed to find the time for everyone, and she simply answered that she would just "do it." She made helping others look effortless.

If you were to have asked Annette what her idea of heaven looked like, aside from being surrounded by her family and friends, she would describe being at Macy's, where every day was Black Friday, excitedly leaving the store with arms filled with clothing that she would wait to try on at home, because trying them on at the store would only slow her down. While heading home, she would drive by a small preschool, her eyes drawn to the playing and laughter of young children, and she would see a sign that simply reads, "HELP WANTED."

The family would love to thank all of the staff and caregivers at The Great Shepherds AFH and Citadel in Shoreline for all of their loving care and the tremendous kindness towards Annette and our family.

A celebration of life will be on March 31st 2017 with a Rosary at 10:30am and the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00am. St. Marks Catholic Church is located at 18033 15th Place NE. Shoreline, Washington 98155.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association which can be found at Alz.org.

Our family was one of the many who was blessed by Annette! She was a dear friend and co-teacher, with my mom, Mary Pat Lord and "Annie" (Suzanne Wellnitz)at St. Mark's Pre-School. We still have the quilt the students of Dusty's class made, as well as a little wooden ornament that Annette made for our family many moons ago.
As the former posts mention, Annette was an amazing giver to everyone she knew.
Whenever I hear the word "naughty", I can't help but smile and think of Annette as she gave special love to the kids that may have been labeled as such! :)
Our world was made better by her presence and I hope I,too, will have a spot at the table for coffee and treats!
Love to you Rod, Luke, Mandy and Alicia!!

Annette is my cousin and although I haven't seen her in quite some time, she will always be a very special part of my life and memories. Our two families were very close growing up and I'm thankful to have had her in my life. Her love for you, Rod, and yours for her has always been so evident, in the way you looked at each other, the wonderful humor you had together and the amazing way you loved her through her struggle with Alzheimer's. I am sorry that I cannot attend the services tomorrow. You are all in my prayers. Annette will be missed, but the legacy she has left will live on forever in everyone whose lives she touched.

Two of my kids attended St Mark's preschool- and what a joy she was as a teacher - and as a friend for all the mom's. My son Colin still refers to the "Smile" school as his favorite and called her Mrs. Fisherman-- not sure why but that became our nickname for her- and she loved it. What a loss for all, but I am certain she is up in heaven with that wonderful smile on her face and warm embrace for all.
