Richard Sinclair Obituary

Richard Patrick

"Pat" Sinclair

Pat Sinclair passed away on March 14, 2017 in Kona, Hawaii at the age of 67.

Pat was born on October 11, 1949 in Seattle, and graduated from Shoreline High School. He enjoyed art and music, studied Fine Arts at the University of Washington, played violin and bass in the Seattle Youth Symphony and was "Lance", the lead guitar in the country rock group Lance Romance. He married, and had daughter Corinna.

In 1980, Pat moved to Kona, where he fished, played music at parties, clubs, events, and luaus, grew avocados and coffee, and met his sweetheart Janna, with whom he founded and managed Pat's Hawaii Avocado Company.

He had great affection for the growers, and was very aware of the fact that the success of the business depended on many hard-working loyal people, especially foreman Kealoha Bishop, and Ed Selke.

Pat was pre-deceased by his father Jim, older brother Mike, and beloved dog BooBoo. He is survived by his mother June, daughter Corinna (son Leland), brother Mickey (Lois, son Nick), niece Vianah Seamon (Noel, sons Steven and Trent), nephew Mike, partner Janna Gundlach, faithful dog Butters, and many much-loved friends.

Recently, Pat said that he had lived a good life, and had done everything he had wanted.

A celebration of life with friends and family is planned for Sunday April 23, noon to sunset, at 89-719 Hua Nui Road Lot #5, Milolii Farm Lots.

I am so saddened to hear of Pats passing.
I was lucky enough to visit Pat and Janna's paradise a few times I was in Kona with Tommy Katica, Marian, Tony Montoya - it was always one of the best days of our trip to spend our day at Pats place. Sometimes we even helped bag up avocado's which was enjoyed by all. We would meet, eat and enjoy their endless hospitality.
Pat - I hope your up there jamming with your pal Tommy Katica - eating juicy papayas and yummy avocados like we always had with you.
Rock on!~~
