Elta Root Obituary

Elta Roberts ROOT 88, formerly of Bellevue, Washington died Tuesday, June 29, 2004. She was predeceased by her parents and two siblings, and is survived by her husband Lloyd E. Root of Portland, Oregon, two sons, Alvin C. Moe and family of San Jose, California and Donald W. Moe and family of Richmond, Virginia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother Kenneth L. Roberts of Ellensburg, Washington, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Elta Root was born near Havre, Montana, July 2, 1915, on a homestead farmed by her parents Milo and Mary Roberts. The family relocated to Seattle, Washington in 1920 and resided in the community of West Seattle. Mrs. Root was a homemaker in the 1930-40's in Seattle, but in the early 50's relocated to Anchorage, Alaska where she enjoyed great success as a business woman. She retired to Washington in the 60's settling in Bellevue with her husband in 1980. Mrs. Root moved to Richmond in November 2002 to reside with a son. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. in Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, Washington. Bleitz Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
