Maury and I met in the 1970's when we carpooled together from Capitol Hill to the Big Airplane Factory in Renton. We would get together a couple times a year for coffee or lunch, and he would always make me feel me feel like I was still cute, young and thin. For example, when I got pulled over for speeding (40 in a 35) and didn't get a ticket, he said the policeman gave me a pass because I was a fox. He was a wonderful listener and I will miss not having him in my life to listen sympathetically to my perceived slights and injustices. For those of us who read obituaries and regret not having known the deceased, I say you missed out Maury was a incredible caring person who accomplished a lot when Black men didn't have the opportunities that white boys did.

Maurice, may you rest eternally at peace, knowing that you did the best that you could do while here. It was a real pleasure to work with you at Boeing during the "old days" when we were both engineers. I enjoyed working with you then. When I last saw you downtown Seattle and you told me that you had left Boeing, I knew then that we had lost one of our best people. God bless you and your family! Best Regards,
