John Budd Obituary

John Richard BUDD Born September 7, 1938 in Seattle, Washington, died September 9, 2003 in Belfair, Washington. He attended Seattle Preparatory High School and Garfield High School, and graduated from the University of Washington with his Bachelors of Arts Degree and received his Masters in Business Administration from City University. John was proud of serving his country in the United States Air Force, and spent his career with Pacific Northwest Bell, Contel, GTE, and Boeing, as a communications design engineer. He enjoyed the out-of-doors, loved mentoring people, and mbraced the diversity of all individuals and cultures. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Lynne Simons Budd; his children; Katherine Ann Budd Copeland, Christine Annette Budd, John George (Budd) Carr, Robert S. Leighton and Leah Elizabeth Budd; his grandchildren; Timothy, Nichole, KyLee, Jacob, Amber, Nancy; his sister Barbara (Jim Denovan) and his brother Bill Budd (Marty Bishop); his nieces and nephews Rory, Laura, Doyle, and Caitlin; cousins Fr. Joseph Stocking SJ, R. Michael Stocking, Ron Manfred, Nanette Oldani and Bob Manfred. John was preceded in death by his parents Richard Newton Budd and Elizabeth Doyle Budd, and his wife Nancy Aagaard Budd. A Service will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2003 at 3 p.m. in Beck's Garden Chapel, 405 - 5th Avenue South, Edmonds, WA 98020, followed by Burial on Monday, September 15 at 1:30 p.m. in Eden Cemetery, Guemes Island, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109-1023.

I worked with John at Contel and Boeing. We had a lot of interesting work (war) stories. We'll miss John Very much.
