As a minister, I worked with Uncle Jimmy on so many funerals. EVERY time, he was so warm, caring and personal. While I didn't know him well, he had such an impact on my life. Thank you Uncle Jimmy for touching my life and the lives of so many families.
My prayers extend to all you family and loved ones who will miss Uncle Jimmy so much.

Dear Aunty Ida, Cynthia & family,
Sorry for your lost; Uncle Jimmy has always been a supportive source for our family. He has helped us with adapting the American way; he understood the struggles one faces in learning a new culture and language; he offered encouragements and guidance without being asked.
Since our family had the convenience of living upstairs from Yick Fung; we as kids visited often for groceries as well as receiving treats from Uncle Jimmy.
Because of Uncle Jimmy we are proud to be a “Mar”; he was the icon and backbone of the Mar's association.
Yes, the Chinese community has lost a great leader and he will be missed but Uncle Jimmy will live on forever in our hearts.
Thanks Again Uncle Jimmy!

Uncle Jimmy, so sad to see you go...you were the "home base" for us in Chinatown through the years...great memories...growing up and going to Chinatown to see you and Uncle Howie at the store and all your siblings, knowing you my whole life - the images of Chinatown, and then later, working with you in the community...thank you. And to all the relatives I know, my sympathies and best to each of you. Jacquie Kay (Moses and Sue Kay's daughter, sister to Roger and Sue Ann.)

Uncle Jimmy will be missed. I remember when we use to go to grandpa's store on the weekends and I would run over to Uncle Jimmy's store which was next door and get my weekend stash of ginger and mui. I remember he would always remind me to study hard in school and would give me a little extra ginger or mui if I did. Everybody that worked in the store was alway so nice to us kids. Thanks you Uncle Jimmy you were always so nice to us.

Unexpected, to say the least. I got to know Jimmy through the years, as a member of Cathay Post 186. As I have watched many of my friends go before him. I was just learning about his exploits during WWII, his story was just amazing. He now joins many of his friends who he sent gently on their final journey. Have a safe passage, and thanks for sharing with me just some of your life.
