As I have shared twice, Hubert Wash was my 8th grade teacher at the McPherson County ,
Kansas, rural Alpha school. His wife Georgia taught grades 1 - 4 and Mr. Wash 5 - 8. This was in the 1946 - 47 school year. He also directed music at Central College in McPherson. He was a great influence on me
and both teachers loved. My sister Marilyn
was in the 6th grade and lives in McPherson.
He encouraged me singing tenor and a small group of us sang in an evening service at
Central College church. I have been involved
in singing and playing musical instruments
all my life since. I will always be grateful for the kind person he was. I heard his name on
the church services from Seattle as a director.
The last time I saw him and Georgia was in the summer of 1947 when we stopped by their house in Hutchinson. Georgia told us to drive carefully as we were taking a trip to the mountains in southwestern Colorado.

I expressed my condolences and shared some in 2016. Mr. Wash was my 8th grade teacher in country school in McPherson County, 1946-1947. Georgia had the first four grades and Hubert the upper 4 grades. We had a wonderful modern new school building, built in
1941 just before W W II. I'm sure you
all have a connection to Central College in McPherson, and the College Church. Hubert the musician
taught us to sing harmony and several of us sang "Walk into Jerusalem Just Like John" They were simply wonderful people and I would love to hear from any of you to share more memories we have.

Knew your grandmother in San Antonio well through FMC. She was a wonderful lady and always so proud to update us on her son and the best grandaughters anyone could have. I do remember y'all visiting us at the church several years ago and your Dad providing us with the wonderful music talent. He definately was blessed by God and shared that talent with so many over the years. A life well lived and now a heavenly reward well earned.

Girls (and your families),
Please accept my sincere condolences, not only from myself but my parents
Leon and Eileen (SAHS/SAC 1946-49) BOVEE (passed 12/2013 and 4/2014), who loved and appreciated your Fathers life and all he stood for. May you be blessed by Gods peace and know the eternal rewards your father is enjoying as he rejoices in Heaven with the Lord, his wife and family/friends. We too shall see them all again, with our faith and belief in God.
As a child living in Flint, MI and my parents as Pastor and wife at Westwood Heights FMC, I so loved when your father would come from SAC and do concerts at the church. I am approaching my 60's and can still picture him today as they did the Shadrach, Meshack and Abendigo in 'the Fiery Furnace' song. Amazing, so realistic, life lesson; he and that song will always be a part of my life.
May you and your families know the lasting impressions he and your family made on multiple lives thru out the years.
With much Respect and Love for your Dad, Hubert Wash.
