Richard Devenuti Obituary
Richard B. DEVENUTI Our beloved, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Richard B. Devenuti, age84, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Surprise, AZ. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on July 23, 1927 to Dominick and Irene Devenuti. A World War II veteran, he graduated from Manhattan College as an Electrical Engineer in 1951 and earned his MBA from Florida State University. He worked in the aerospace industry for 45 years, the last 28 years with the Boeing Company. Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was the Grand Knight at St Theresa's Parish in Federal Way, Wa. He loved his family, golf, tennis and travel. Never a handy man, he learned to repair cars, do shoddy construction and could fix almost any problem with duct tape and string. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 59 years, son Richard R. (Jayne) Devenuti and daughters Linda, (John) Keena and Kim Devenuti, 5 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, two brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or your local hospice.A celebration of his life is planned for the New Year.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dear Judy, and all I am sadden by the news of Dick's passing. This is a trying year as my father passed in April, find strength, in the church, and family and carry on the best you can. I will include you all in my prayers.

My sincerest condolences are with you. I had worked with Dick years ago for Boeing in Seattle. He was a nice fellow and I remember his sense of humor. It was an enjoyable period being in the same group with him. I am sorry to hear that he was left us. I hope your retirement years in Arizona were pleasant and wish you good luck in the future.

Judy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Dick as being very witty and I can imagine his handyman skills probably pretty much like mine. My prayers are with you and your family and I know I will see Dick again when GOD calls us all together.

Dear Judy and family. Louise and I were saddened to hear of dick's passing. As your next door neighbors in Twin Lakes, we have very fond memories of Dick. And we can attest to his skills as a handy man. We still remember his effort to bring additional heat from the basement upstairs by cutting a hole in the floor of the living room . But it worked. We will always remember Dick as a very kind and helpful neighbor. Judy, you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers. We wondered where you and Dick had moved to and it is nice to know that you are living in a nice warm place, Please extend our condolences to Rick, Kim, and Linda. Judy, I was so sorry to hear the news. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. As you remember, I worked with you many years ago at Boeing Travel and througly enjoyed the stories that you and Dick told us. We sure had some really good times at work and shared lots of laughs. The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
