Sara was born on June 25, 1921 in County Galway, Ireland. She died in Redmond, WA on May 28, 2014. Sara was the third of eight children of Michael and Mary Brennan who all preceded her in death. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at age 15, emigrated to the US, studied in San Antonio, TX and took her final profession of vows in 1945. She taught in elementary schools in the states of Texas, Missouri and Illinois. She also served as a school principal during her service. In 1971 she received permission from her order to come to Seattle to care for her brother who was severely injured in the war in Viet Nam. After he died Sara returned to teaching as a lay teacher and taught Special Education in the Bellevue School District until 1992. She was a very active member of Holy Family Parish in Kirkland where she volunteered in the parish school, helped with the youth group and many other ministries and she was loved by many of her fellow parishioners.
