Suzanne Dorres Obituary

Suzanne Dorres

Sue passed away peacefully April 9, 2014 after a great game of golf.

Born in Portland, Oregon to William Meaney and Margaret McLean. Sue graduated from St. Mary's High School and Marylhurst College.

She was always on the go and looking out for others. She loved to golf, travel, ski, dance, play tennis and bridge, and attend concerts and plays. She was an active member of St. Francis Church administering Eucharist at Highline Hospital. She loved the ocean and celebrating her Scottish and Irish heritage and a wee bit 'o Jameson.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald (Don) Dorres; children: Bob Dorres (Vicky), Peggy Ashworth (Mark), Nancy Nuerenberg (Jim), Bill Dorres (Julie), Kathy Grogan (Philip), Trish Keaton (Dan) and grandchildren: Michaela Terrenzio (Joe), Daniel; Jamie Ashworth; Jeanne, Jenny Dorres; Nolan Grogan; and Bridget, Sarah, Joe Keaton She is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia (Jim) Parker, and survived by her brother Mike (Terry) Meaney.

Was so sad to hear about Sue. Old friends of the O'Neill, family and our dear sister Peggy O'Neill Higgins. The kindness of Sue and Don surpasses many throughout the years. A wonderful couple who loved each other for being who they were for 61 years. I am a golfer like Sue and we always said we'd play together ..maybe they have an easy 9'in Heaven. Thank you Don and Sue for being the angels who watched always over our dear Peggy. A Mass will be said by Fr John Marshall at St Peter's Eugene after Easter. He is a new priest and one of my students from Pendleton. God bless you Don...love ,Jean E O'Neill Albrich now of Portland.

Dear Don and family,
We were shocked and saddened to hear that Sue has passed away. You have been wonderful and supportive friends and neighbors for 50+ years, and we have wined, dined and partied too many times to count. All of us will miss Sue. You are all in our thoughts and prayers, and Mom wanted me to pass on her condolences, as well.

I can't believe she is gone. Last I spoke to her, was about the Irish Mother's dinner. I loved talking to her, and she a joy to know. God Bless, Candace Dunne, IHC

So very sad to hear the news. Sue was a great friend to my Mom throughout the years. We used to love to go to the Dorres and play with their troll house when we were kids! Sue and Don were always there to help Mom when she needed it and would also help out with watching my son occasionally when he was little. I will always remember her sense of humor. She always made me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.
