I will always remember Aunt Betty & her family when we would visit from MD. I remember She played the organ and my dad the harmonica together. She was always so laid back and happy.I also remember Aunt Betty came to MD to visit us in 1990 after my nephew TJ was born and how happy my dad was to have his sister come to visit. I am so glad that since 2008 when I come to WA for my yearly visit, Aunt Betty always welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of her kids.We would always go for walks and I was always amazed at her stamina and how she could out walk me.You would think I was the old person and she was the youngster. She knew that my house was up for sale and that I wanted to move to be near her and she was very excited over the prospect of having me closer. When we would talk she always wanted to know how the house sale was going . A week before Memorial day I had the privilege of spending a week with her.Aunt Betty was comming to the end of her life after fighting hard cancer, with courage, strength and dignity. She was very much at peace and a woman full of faith in God and very thankful and grateful for the life he had given her.Aunt Betty you will be greatly missed and I am very thankfull to God for allowing me 3 years to really get to know you better, for you are an amazing woman !!! My prayers are for all family.

I have many memories of extended family gatherings in which Betty attended. She was always wonderful company at the celebrations and a great support on occassions such as my father's funeral. We'll miss her. Jacqueline Spicer

Dear Family of Betty,

As I read Betty's obituary and note that we were the same age I can only hope that I am as well prepared as she was to enter into eternal joy and happiness with God. I have such fond memories of she and Walt. As saddened as I was by his death I now rejoice for both of them that they are together for all eternity.
I was fortunate to be, with them, part of a privileged group of daily Mass attendees at St. Benedicts for many years. That group has dwindled significantly and I will miss seeing Betty there on my next visit.

God bless and comfort all of you in the McDonald family. You have a rich heritage!
