Dorothy Poeske-Haber Obituary

Dorothy Frances POESKE-HABER Dorothy Frances Poeske-Haber, 94, of Renton died Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Dorothy was born July 15, 1916, in Marathon City, Wisconsin and grew up on a farm with her four brothers and two sisters. In 1943, she moved to Renton where she worked in the Boeing wire shop for 35 years. In 1948, she moved into the house that became her home for 63 years in the Renton Highlands. She was married to Leander Kirstein of Marathon City, Wisconsin from 1936 to 1939, Elmer Poeske of Wausau, Wisconsin from 1943 until his death in 1966, and Norman Haber of Oshkosh, Wisconsin from 1976 until his death in 1997. She enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing and traveling, but was always happiest with her family or in her home where she quietly passed away. Dorothy is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Poeske, and daughter, Carol (Eddy) Prets, all of Renton; sisters, Katherine Elliott of Maryland and Bernice Passehl of Arizona; brothers, Patrick (Marie) Seubert and Jacob Seubert, both of Wisconsin; stepson, James (Mary) Haber of Renton; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Katherine Seubert; and brothers, Fred and Andrew, all of Wisconsin. She will be remembered for her frank observations, inner strength and the way she thoroughly enjoyed whatever she did. Her family would like to thank Providence Hospice of Seattle, her caregivers and the Virginia Mason Hospital doctors and staff. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Renton. Remembrances in her name can be made to Saint Anthony Catholic Church.
