Dorothy J. MITCHELL Our world lost some of its sparkle with the unexpected passing of Dorothy J Mitchell on February 26th, 2011. She was born in Seattle on March 9th, 1927, attended Bryant Elementary and Roosevelt High School and worked for 30 years at the University of Washington. Her passion was her family and her love extended to so many friends. She will be missed forever by Bob, her loving husband of 63 years, her daughters Nancy Mitchell, Sue Anderson (Tod) and JoAnne Gray (Michael), 3 beautiful grandchildren and 2½ great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at Evergreen Washelli (11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle) on Wednesday March 9th, at noon. She was our strength, She was our rock, She was our shining star; And though She had to leave us, Her loves flows from afar. Remembrances may be made to the Northwest Kidney Center. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Bob, Nancy, Sue and Joanne,
We were so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. i can still recall her sunny face and radiant spirit. Her laugh was contagious, her humor sharp, and her loyalty to loved ones and friends as deep as can be fathomed. She was a remarkable woman and I feel blessed to have known her for the past 40 years.
Buddha sees death as a release, Plato as a chance to commune with the Gods and Socrates said there is great hope that death is a blessing. I hope that all three are right. In the Jewish religion it says that people live on in the hearts of those that love them. I believe this to be true.
Dorothy has touched many lives. Her love of family, both near and extended was demonstrated over and over again.
Know that we love you all and will also miss Dorothy.
