Dothry Finne Obituary

Dorothy FINNE Dorothy was born May 26, 1915 in Colorado and passed away March 30, 2011 in Seattle. She moved to Seattle at age 6 with her family. She met the love of her life, Elke at Greenlake marrying him in 1934. She and Elke had 4 children; Bill, Bob, Dale and Wendy. She remained in the Ballard home that was built for them in 1946 until her death. Dorothy attended every PTA meeting and all childhood activity for each of her children. She and Elke were treasured volunteers at Ballard Community Hospital which later became Swedish Medical Center/Ballard Campus. Dorothy loved to knit and made hand knit baby things for the gift shop for over 40 years. It is impossible to know how many Ballard babies have beautiful hand knitted sweaters, booties and blankets made by her. Dorothy was known for her love of chocolate, especially her love of dark chocolate M&Ms. She was preceded in death by her husband Elke, son Bob, and sisters Thelma and Reva. She is survived by her sons Bill and Dale and daughter Wendy, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.A celebration of her life will take place on May 26th at 2:00 p.m. at the Northminister Presbyterian Church 7706 25th Avenue NW Seattle, WA.

She made the best zucchini bread and also made beautiful baby sweaters, caps, blankets and booties. I will always remember you Dorothy with fond memories

She made the best banana bread and zucchini bread! She sometimes had a gruff manor, but always a kind heart.
