Erna Alexander Obituary

Erna M. Alexander

4/2/1929 ~ 12/15/2013

Mom was born in California to Elsie and Arthur Ulmer and moved as a child to Ellensburg where she went to school, made many lifetime friends and met her future husband, Douglas Alexander who kept noticing this "real cute girl, 5'4" tall, dark hair and big brown eyes." They were married in 1956 and had four children, Dennis, David, Scott and Kellie. She was a dental assistant and in later years was an office manager for a prominent Seattle area dentist. She was preceded in death by her husband "Papa" Doug, mother, brother's Gil Ulmer and Leonard Ulmer and a sister, Ann Hill and son-in-law Tom. She is survived by her sister, Janette, her four children, grandchildren Brandon, Chelsea, Brianne, Dan, McKenna, Conner and Caylee and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Virginia Mason for their compassion and care. She had a great sense of humor and delighted in her license plate frame, O2BA10.

Mom you will be a "10"

in our hearts forever.

Erna was my Mother, the best memory is when she turned 80 My daughter and I went to Disneyland with Erna. and we even got her on Splash Mountain. She kept saying she was getting off. we had to hold her down, after the ride she was glad she did it.

Erna was my mother-in-law for 27 years and a dear friend for a lifetime. She taught me grace, how to cook and not to be so ruff around the edges. No one could ask for a better mentor and friend. Erna you will be greatly missed. Love Robin
