Geraldine Allen Obituary

Geraldine E. ALLEN Geraldine E. Allen was born in Sedro Wooley, WA on Jan 8, 1920 and died, peacefully, after a long and happy life, in Kingston, WA Mar 26, 2011. She grew up in Bellingham, graduating from Bellingham High School in 1937 and Western Washington College in 1940. She went back to school and obtained her Masters of Social Work degree from the UW in 1968. Gerry married Larry Flinn in 1942 and had 2 children. She went to work for the Dept of Social & Health Services in 1957. She had a long and successful career there in multiple capacities before retiring in 1986. In 1963 she married Les Allen who predeceased her in 2007. Gerry loved music, flowers, traveling, her dogs and always a party. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bill) Nolan, her son Stephen Flinn, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Nan Allen and many beloved nieces, nephews & friends. Her family would like to thank Group Health Hospice of Kitsap Co., especially Dusty, Jayne, Cinde and Harriet, for the very loving care she received. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Apr 9 at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary in Poulsbo. Please visit her online memorial at www.poulsbomortuary.com.

Geri was a lovely woman - she loved beautiful things, treasured old memories, and adored her family. I am so lucky she was in my life.
