Jeff had a strong faith in Jesus Christ his Lord & Savior. He was actively involved at his church, Westgate Chapel. His greatest joy was in spending time with his wife & children. Jeff loved going to the ocean, Lake Chelan, golfing, & joining his father target shooting & clamming. Jeff was always providing a good laugh & loved an intellectual conversation. Jeff was a strong, deeply compassionate man who genuinely cared for all people. He is greatly missed by his family & friends. We love you Jeff! I always picture Jeff in my mind in a tux shirt and purple bow tie from Jazz Choir at Shorewood. The tenor section here on earth will never be the same.

My heart goes out to the family. Praying for God's comfort in this time for you.

Enjoy singing with the angels Jeff!

Always wonderful when a good guy grows to be a great man. Jeff and I were friends in choir at Shorewood. Our prayers are with you, his family. Take comfort in the knowledge that, hard as it is, this separation will be temporary and you WILL see him again. He is home and watching over you. All my love, Alayne.

Jeff. I know your family will miss you. But, I know they will have many fond memories to carry them through their lives. For me, it is of our close friendship in elementary school. You were always kind and thoughtful. I wish your family comfort and peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Birt family and the Seattle Fire Department. The citizens of Seattle were lucky to have such a fireman at their side, now we are all so lucky to have such a man watch over us. Gods speed brother!

Jeff was a quality man. Our family became involved with Jeff when he was 17, as an Explorer Scout w/ Seattle Fire. My husband Koll and I were MORE than happy to help him in his journey to his career goals. We saw in Jeff the rare qualities of a young man with character, care, and good work ethics. Someone we were happy to recommend in any way. Besides the fact that he was fun to be around, and talk with.

We were very blessed during the early years of our marriage by his family and family friends. He was raised by two incredible parents. Jerry and Janis, you did great!

Men like Jeff are rare on this earth and it is truly amazing what can be done in a mans heart when he gives it to God in faith.......and that is what Jeff did. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to know such a man. Koll and I WILL see you on the other side. Thanks for going the extra mile for others, and having some laughs along the way Jeff. Love and Hugs to all the Birts and their many longtime family friends. Your an amazing group, and well loved.
