Leslie Eaton Obituary

Leslie G. "Bud" Eaton

"Bud" was born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 31, 1941 and passed on October 4, 2014, from complications of a long illness. He is survived by his wife Annette and grown children Shelby and Ross (April) and grandchildren Marcus, Sarah, Seth and Grace, and sisters Nancy, Carol and Sandee (Chuck). He also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews and a special S.O.N. Mike. Bud was preceded in death by baby brothers, George and Jeffrey and parents George and Corinne Eaton. Bud loved his country and his fellow man unselfishly. He was a great man, citizen, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will truly be missed.

While not at work, Bud spent much of his time volunteering and being involved in the Community. After he retired he was President of the Kenmore Community Club and the Bothell High School Alumni Association. He also was an active member of the Kenmore Heritage Society where he helped to develop the Kenmore City Flag and worked on many other projects. He was an NRA Life Member and a volunteer and avid supporter of the Friends of NRA. Bud was a member of the Masonic Ashler Lodge #121. He and Annette enjoyed classic cars and attended a special car show in Winnemucca, Nevada each summer for 24 years. Bud loved history, especially the Civil War, and was always excited to tell you historic facts. He knew the complete story of the Kenmore Fire Department and had been compiling its history for many years.

Bud spent 42 years in the Fire Service. He started in the Kenmore Fire Department as a volunteer and was hired full-time in 1966 and worked his way through all the ranks and finished as Chief. The last 12 years before retirement were spent with the King County Fire Investigation Unit as a Fire Marshal.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 PM at the Nile Temple, 6601 - 244th St. S.W. Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043.

Remembrances may be sent to Bothell High School Alumni Association, North Puget Sound Friends of NRA, Make-A-Wish Foundation or something of your choice.

Annette, This is Leona Hixson married to Edwin Earl. Bud was our best man at our wedding. His mother was Marjorie Eaton Georges sister. Don't know if you remember us but was heartbroken to hear about Bud. As you probably know Earl died many years about (30 years ago of brain cancer). Would like to hear from you someday. Interested in hearing about Nancy and GR. [email protected] Hope your doing well, Leona

Sharing in your sadness as you remember Bud. There never was anyone quite like him and never will be again. He was a true original.
I have been a Lifetime Member of the Bothell High School Alumni Association and have served on committees as well as the BHSAA Board with Bud. He was a great man and really knew how to effectively run a board meeting! I will miss his presence at future BHSAA meetings.
He and his wife Annette have been most generous in their time and hard work in volunteering for the BHSAA!

Bud was a powerful force in the Bothell High School Alumni Association as board member and President. It was a privilege to work with him and call him friend. He and Annette have given hours of volunteering on behalf of all BHS alumni. We will greatly miss him. Bill and Bev Schmer
