Marjorie de Muynck Obituary

Marjorie Morningstar de MUYNCK Age 58, Marjorie Morningstar de Muynck, passed over on January 25, 2011. Her valiant struggle with cancer endured over 11 years, and through it all she lived to perform, compose music, author books, and educate, and was a passionately devoted environmentalist and animal rights activist. She leaves behind her partner, Linda Marie Waller, and her beloved animal family, Dorje Bell, Jimmy Mac and Xena, as well as an extensive family of friends, and her beloved sister Marcia McMichael, niece Morgan and nephew Bryce, mother Dorothy and father Marshall de Muynck. Marjorie was a graduate of the Seattle Institute of Shiatsu, and earned her Master of Music Education from Boston University and was attending the Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM in order to become a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, a tradition of healing art that she deeply loved. A pioneer in the field of Sound Healing, Marjorie's gifts as a musician and healing arts practitioner merged together as she created new healing modalities, to include Acutonics and most recently the Ohm Therapeutics systems of Sound Healing. Throughout her illustrious life, Marjorie toured the world performing. She was a wind instrument specialist, and a founding member of the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet. A truly remarkable woman, partner and friend to many, Marjorie will be dearly missed, and her influence will without doubt reach far into the future. She loved this earthly plane and found the sacred in all living things. She was pure of heart and a radiant being who always advocated for the suf- fering. Love and Peace Dear One. I only met her once when she was delivering her album to Body. I bought it just as soon as I heard it and have adored it ever since. She had a strong and gentle presence that I will never forget.

I first heard The Key of Earth years ago and was instantly transported and enriched. And just now I thought of her and realized I knew nothing about her...and found myself here. And only just finding out she has passed only imbues her music with an even greater depth and beauty for me. Thank you for opening my consciousness. Morningstar---how beautiful...

Thank you, soul-sister, for continuing to shine in my heart, inspiring me, lifting me, moving me to love harder in every moment I am here. Your song continues to echo over the hills and play in the clouds.

Marjorie is an inspiration in my work and my life. A more generous teacher than any I could have wished for, she shared everything she knew about shiatsu and acutonics with me. Her trust and encouragement empowered me.
She was present for the birth of my son. I am shocked to hear that she has passed from this world and I missed it. Could be she is always with me and always will be.

I am sad to hear of her passing. I listen to "There's No Place Like Ohm" 1 & 2 as well as "In The Key of Earth" on a regular basis to calm, center, and reconnect. I was looking for new music by her and found this site. My condolences to all of her Loved Ones...Ryan Hicks.

I too met Marjorie through king county metro's sciatsu program some 20 years ago. She rented a house from me and when i was on maternity leave she gonged and tuning forked my infant son. I'm sure that has contributed to his musicality and sensitivity. Marjorie, you had such a power moving through your fingers and hands, as evidenced by all of us that benefited from your massage and your music. You made this world and our lives better. Love, Laurie Elder

I was a client of Marjorie's at King County Metro and later in her private practice. Her healing and shamanic gifts helped change my life.

My husband also went to her for massage. We both loved the way she used gongs, the didgeridoo, and sound healing. In fact, we haven't found anyone who uses these instruments the way she did and we have really missed that, as well as missing her.

With love to Marjorie and all her family--

Marjorie was my shiatsu therapist at King County Metro and for many years after in private practice. She and her former partner rescued my beloved but terrible dog, Woody. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing, but so happy to have had her in my life.

I will always find your beauty in the spring-green hills, the mossy rock and cricket song on a deep, starry night. I'll see you in the cloud colors and patterns, the sound of breaking ocean waves and each magnificent tree. My Marjorie - my love is undying. My condolences to Linda and the rest of the family.
