Marv and I were classmates at Elston in Michigan City, Indiana. The great Class of 1957. As happens, our lives took us in different directions. He had so much character and a smile on his face always. I last saw him at our last reunion. As I was walking in with the thought and tummy tickle of "will I be able to recognize anyone I haven't kept in contact with?", there was Marv, front and center with that great smile. He introduced himself again and I was immediately at ease. I am sure many other classmates felt the same way. He will definitely be missed by many. And to his family, my heartfelt thoughts and prayers for your loss. Barbara Sturken LaGrossa

Other than endless wisedom I got from him, we shared a lot a good laugh, and was very privileged to have a ride on his classic car along the Rainier Ave for Chinese food. He will always be missed.

I was fortunate to be Marv's H S classmate at Elston but quickly lost track of him as we headed in different directions for college, families, etc. We began to see one another at five year intervals for our class reunions until several years ago when we vacationed together with other classmates. Then two years ago we were delighted when he said he would be traveling through Michigan and he actually spent a night with us in our driveway with the "monster" (motorhome) When we invited him to spend the night in our home, he decided a shower in full size facility would be sufficient and retired much later to his bed in the monster. Wonderful memories and our prayers go out to his children and grandchildren. Fondly, Keith & Jean Holmes

I have had the pleasure knowing Marv since 1987, working in the Boeing Stress Group. He was my lead engineer for about a year, and we had a blast, sitting so close to each other as many engineers there do. We shared a lot of laughs together. In fact, I was fortunate to see Marv this spring when he visited his son here in Texas. We had a great BBQ dinner and shared a few laughs there too. Easy to do with Marv. I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to his family. I know he loved them so much.

Marv was a great engineer with lots of common sense. He was a tower of technical integrity. He is greatly missed.

I took care of your father in CCU at Valley. When I returned to work the following weekend after I cared for him, I had inquired where he was, and heard he was transferred out. I had assumed that was good news and that he was able to get off the ventilator. I am so sorry to read in the paper today that he had died.
In my 25 years of nursing, there are some patients and families that stand out. Even though I did not get to know your Dad well, I could tell what a special man he was by the love and devotion of his family. He had a wonderful family and I am glad to read that you were at his side when he did die. (I hope you were talking about fishing. I remember he seemed pretty happy and calm when that was being discussed the first evening I cared for him.)
My mother died 2 years ago this month and I know how difficult the holidays can be. I pray that you are able to get through it. Being around family, close friends and cherishing the good memories helped me. Take care, Mary D (3-11 nurse)
