Renee "MamaAfrica" MILLS (nee Renate Albrecht ) March 27, 1946 ~ April 29, 2011 Free of all pain, Renee's spirit soars in her beloved Africa. Born, raised and educated in Germany she immigrated to the USA in 1971, a firm believer that this is the land of unlimited possibilities. She loved living in the Pacific Northwest and she loved her huge circle of friends. For many years she owned highly successful Gen eral Travel Service in Bellevue and Redmond. Since selling Gen eral Travel in 1988 Renee and her staff at Mills Tourism Consulting have handled trips to Africa ex clusively. She took great pride in operating on a referral-only ba sis, never having a web site or be ing listed in the phone book. Renee is survived by her sisters Carla Mueller (Gero) and Edda Albrecht and her brother Hans- Peter, all residing in Germany. In lieu of flowers donations are re quested to the Humane Society of King County, 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue,WA 98005-4408. A celebration of Renee's life will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, June 18 at the University of Washington Center of Urban Horticulture, UW Botanic Gardens, 3501 NE 41st Street, Seatle, Wa. 98105.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

My dear Renee was my friend and mentor for many many years. She encouraged me to try new things and reminded me to honor what I have. I hear her voice often in the everyday things I do and how I conduct my life. I will miss her terribly.

I was so saddened to hear of her death. She shared her love of Africa with so many travelers from the Pacific Northwest. She will be missed.
