Richard Colman Obituary

Richard Roy COLMAN November 24, 1937 ~March 31, 2011 Richard (Dick) Colman passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the age of 73. He was surrounded by family at his Enumclaw home, where he had lived for 37 years. Dick was born to Ken and Alice Colman in Rochester, Minnesota, on November 24, 1937. Dick and his family moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1944, where he graduated from Highline High School. After a brief time as an inspector at Boeing, he was hired by United Airlines in 1961. After 36 years, he retired as a captain on 747 jetliners. Throughout his life, Dick loved spending time with his family. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with the companionship of his black labs. In recent years, he cherished time with family and friends at his cabin in Sekiu. Dick is survived by his longtime companion Pam Sparks. He was very proud of his children: Cathy Hollar, Brad Colman, Chris Colman, and Tiffany Colman; eight grandchildren: Kari, Cindy, Collin, Lowen, Anderson, Derek, Aiden, and Taytum; and one great-grandson, Timothy. He is also survived by his brother, Ron Colman. The family is having a celebration of Dick's life at his home at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
