ROBERT BARDEN Obituary

Robert Hewlett BARDEN September 17, 1917 ~ May 14, 2011 A life-long resident of Seattle, he passed away peacefully at home. He was an alumnus of Broadway High School and the University of Washington where he became a big football fan. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Louise Melburn Barden, sister Jacquetta Barden Daniels, sons Bryce Barden, Chuff Barden (spouse Carolyn Pauw Barden), Stephen Barden (spouse Pamela Poletti Barden) and grandchildren Mireille Barden Weller (spouse Nathan and daughter Katherine), Brittany Barden Talley (spouse Derek), Robert Barden, Case Barden, Heidi Barden and Madeline Barden After 30 years as a contractor he spent his retirement deep sea fishing, big game hunting in Canada, tiger hunting in India and other world travels. A member of The Audubon Society, he listed 3,760 species of birds. He visited the capital and highest peak of every state. The family would like to thank his caregiver Natalie for her many months of service. No public memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burke Museum or the Nature Conservancy.
