Last time I saw Valerie was here on Hilton Head Island. I had always wondered why she had not contacted me back. She was a part of my teenage years in NYC and I'll never forget her. I hope she has peace as she never seemed to find it before.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Val's illness and passing. We went to high school together, Syracuse together, she was the one who taught me to drive a car!! I always considered her, to this day, to be the sister I never had. My brother Michael was her first serious boyfriend, anyone who knew Val probably knew of Mike. She will always hold a special place in my heart, reserved for just her. Anyone who would like to learn more about the early Val, I'm always happy to share memories. Rest in peace Val

Val is my cousin. I have searched for her since I had no response to my emails concerning my mother's passing. Mom was Val's godmother. Val's mother, Marcy was my favorite and I really missed her when she died. Val's favorite was her Grandmother, my Aunt Esther and she looked like her Grandfather Joe. They are together now and I hope she is at peace.

Dear Marcy,
Do you recall your girlhood friend, Judy Newman? I have often wondered where you are. Sadly, I ran across this obituary. My deepest sympathy. I have three children, and know it must be terrible to lose a child! She sounds like she was a wonderful young lady. Please contact me. I have a lot to tell you.
My email is [email protected], and my phone, (in Little Neck, NY), is 718 224-3568. I have a good story to tell you. Fondly, Judy Newman Cohen

I knew Val since 1978. We were friends and once much more until her passing. I will miss her as I know so many others will. I only wish I could have done more after she told me of her illness.

As a friend, Val was superb. She always was there for a chat, a fun dinner out, a laugh, and a shoulder to cry on when it was needed. I treasured her like a sister, and will never forget the kindness and example of steadfast resolve she taught me. Miss you sweetheart, rest in peace. Love, Scott Foval

Cancer robbed the planet of one of the most vivacious, enthusiastic and joyful people I have ever met. I will feel forever blessed for having known Val the short time I did. Her spirit is infectious and everlasting.
