Violet Jurgich

Violet ( Ljubica) JURGICH Violet (Ljubica) Jurgich was born on August 6, 1924 in Juneau, Alaska Territory, to Gabriel and Danica Pavlovich. Violet moved with her family to Seattle in the early 40's where she met and married the love of her life,George Jurgich. In the early '50s George and Violet settled in the new community of Innis Arden to raise daughters Diana (Plumis) and Georgia (Leckie). Violet's time, talents and generosity enriched the following organizations and communities: Seattle Schools, Shoreline Schools, Shoreline Community College, Slavic Women's Club, Serbian Hall, St. Sava Mission in Jackson, CA, All Saints Center, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church and St. Raphael's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Palm Springs, CA. Violet was also active in numerous Masonic Organizations and activities with her late husband George. She is best remembered as a caring friend, a gracious hostess, a loving mother to her daughters and sons-in-law, George Plumis and Blair Leckie; precious sister to Mary Vallentyne, and adoptive mother to Marko Kosich. The newest generation cherishes her as "Babalu"- grandmother to Ted Plumis, Greg Plumis, Andrew Leckie and Alice Hopkins; and great-grandmother to Melia Violet, Alexander George, Amara Danica and Eva Blair.She also leaves behind a loving community of extended family, nephews, nieces, godchildren and friends-all of whom were beloved by her.
