Maxine ORR Maxine passed away May 16th,2010 at University Hospital in Seattle from complications of pneumonia. She was born Lois Maxine Kennard on April 2, 1917 in Yeoman, IN, the daughter of Glen and Mabel (Holloway) Kennard. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Jack E. She accepted gracefully the responsibilities of faculty wife and, for 26 years, as a dean's wife at the Universities of Montana and Washington. Maxine was active in what was then the Faculty Wives' Club at the University of Washington and served on its Board of Directors. She was a Life Member of the American Pharmacists Association Auxiliary, the Washington State Pharmacists Association Auxiliary and itsKing County chapter. She was a member of PEO and the Lippincott Guild at Children's Hospital. She was elected to honorary membership in SPURS at the University of Montana. Maxine was a member of the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for many years. She was a rabid and loyal Husky football fan and, in later years, a backer of the Seattle Mariners. Most of all, she loved golfing with her good friends at the Sand Point Country Club. She enjoyed playing the piano. Travel was an important part of the Orr's' lives with annual trips to Napili Bay in Maui for some 25 years, trips to Europe and cruises. She loved gardening at their home in Northeast Seattle and later at their Fairway Estates condominium as a member of the Gardens Committee. Maxine is survived by her husband, Jack, one daughter, Judith Yurina (Michael), Tacoma, and grandsons, Kevin Glantz (Kelly), Seattle, and Ryan Yurina (Jamie), Tacoma, and one great grandson, Zayne Glantz.
