The few conversations John actually had with me were great ones. And, I'll never forget the time we teenagers were playing cards, and John joined in and cleaned us all out; and the Lionel train collection in the basement, and the beautiful house they had in Wallingford; the list of memories actually goes on and on. Condolences to Joanne, Brian, Charlie, and Brigid. The McDevitts helped make the neighborhood what it was. They were/are all great people.

Dad, I was sitting outside one night. I closed my eyes in front of the freeway and saw a dot of light in front of me. I thought, I have brain damage, so it's usual sometimes. The light was surrounded in black and continued growing, but the brightness only increased to a level which I could keep following it. It continued to Increase in size and seemed to be moving towards me. I noticed it was three separate objects. Two wider and the third horizontal between the other two. The size increased until sixty percent of my image was filled with light. The first light went above my head. The second light was person lying out, but surrounded in light with no visible features and was passing over my head. The third light was passing over my head. Suddenly, I noticed at least a hundred feathers outlined in a light gray/blue shade. It was the wings and the inside of the body. The form in front was horizontal, but the feathers then made the appearance of a more effort was being required. The lights then disappeared over my head. Thanks for this and all other memories. Love always, Charles Patrick McDevitt.

McDevitt Family,

Advice the King (Uncle Bob) once gave to me I now give to you, "Stay tight in the clinches". Mr. McDevitt (John) was an original. A great man in all respects. He left an incredibly positive impression on us all. Although incredibly insightful, which is impressive enough, it is the way in which he lived that made the greatest impact. Men like him are few and far between these days. He raised the bar awfully high. I am grateful to have known him and will never forget him.

Dear Joanne, I am so sorry about John's passing. Even though you and John have not lived in Wandering Creek very long and I didn't have the opportunity to get to know him well, he was always such a gentleman. He will be missed.

Hi Joanne and family. I am sure glad I got to see you guys in July. I will miss him very much. I didn't realize how much John resembled his dad. That photo is the spitting image of his father. God bless you all and him. Love, Bob Jones.
