Phyllis Schultz Obituary

Phyllis C. SCHULTZ Phyllis C. Schultz, 74, died October 28, 2010 in Bellevue, WA. Born March 11, 1936 in New Hudson, MI, her family later moved to Milford, MI where she graduated from high school in 1955. In June of 1956, she married Loren Schultz in Greenville, MI. They have lived in Bellevue, WA for the past 37 years. Passionately interested in learning, Phyllis had many interests ranging from art history to writing to literature. She continued to take classes throughout her life, eventually receiving an Associate in Arts Degree with an emphasis in Art History from Bellevue College in 1980. An extrovert by nature, Phyllis enjoyed her work in retail sales and loved making new friends wherever she went. She spent many years as an elementary school tutor, delighting in the challenge of connecting with kids and inspiring them with her love of learning. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, writing, and travel. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Loren; daughter Dana Mongillo; grandsons Dillon and Finley Mongillo; sisters Rosemary Ellis of Portland, OR and Kathleen Dominquez of Lake Elsinore, CA; and brother Laurence Barthel of Greenville, MI. A private family service will be held in Greenville, MI. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
