William Treverton Obituary

William "Chip" Ward Treverton, Jr.

William Ward "Chip" Treverton Jr., 39, passed away on Saturday morning following a heroic battle with rare appendiceal cancer. Chip was born in Edmonds Washington to William W. Treverton, and Pamela T. Treverton. He spent most of his youth and formative years in Bellevue, Washington where he attended Bellevue High School. His involvement in the high school DECA program sparked his passion to pursue a career in leadership and business management. An avid and capable outdoor enthusiast, he climbed Mt. Rainier at the age of 16. Chip graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Business Management. He was the president of Theta Chi Fraternity at WSU and was also the president of the Interfraternity Council. In his short career he repeatedly demonstrated his leadership abilities and was building his dream company when his illness struck. In 2003 he married his wife Shannon (Carvey) and they have two beautiful children; a daughter, Tate, born in 2006, and a son, William "Will", born in 2008. Chip leaves his wife, children, his parents, sister Kimberly Schiene of Spokane, brother Mark Treverton of Bellevue, Washington, and Grandmother Mary Louise Hawley of Cincinnati, OH. He also leaves an Uncle, Edward Terrill and Aunt Jane Terrill also of Cincinnati, and another Uncle Gregory Treverton and Aunt Karen Treverton of Pacific Palisades CA. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Sat, August 4th at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1818 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle. Chip's family,
I haven't spoken to Chip since elementary or middle school, but this breaks my heart. I remember him always having a bright, lively personality. I also remember people calling us by each other's names since we looked similar, despite him being 1 year older. You will all be in my thoughts.
