Mrs. Moffat was my favorite Teacher. She was alway sweet and always fair. (she never assigned homework!) My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I would like to offer my condolences to Colin and Merrill. I loved your mother and looked forward to her lively conversation. She could speak the truth without an ounce of bitterness and give advice that was always worth hearing. I will always think of her as someone I hope to be like someday - even though it is not likely I will attain this goal. I look forward to seeing her again in Heaven more lively conversations then.

I knew Dot through my mother-in-law, her good friend, Joyce Kleinsmith. Though I never met her, Dot and I corresponded a number of times after she'd read a novel I'd written. She had a lively mind and it was great getting her insightful literary critique. But Dot was more than just sharp - she was generous with praise and encouragment. Based on our discussions, I'm sure Dot must've been a very fine teacher. It is for extraordinary readers like Dot that writers write.

We too, would like to add our condolences to Dorothy's family.
We first met back in the very early 1960's through St. Johns Lodge #9. At that time, Dave and Dorothy lived on Capitol Hill, later moving to Windandtide. We remember several times when she graciously hosted several get-togethers in their home on Capitol Hill. From the very beginning of our association, Dorothy was easy to like because she seemed so upbeat and easy to talk with. Dorothy was a very positive and reassuring lady, who seemed to be well respected by a number of people.
Through the years we would see Dorothy at St. John's functions. A conversation with Dorothy always made us come away feeling good. That is a special gift she shared with many people. We now feel very badly that we were unable to connect in person with her a couple of years ago when we were on Whidbey Island for a week end.
We know that you will miss her deeply… as well as many people, whose lives she touched through the years.

She was a shining example of God's grace and love. I wasn't the best behaved kid at Picnic Pointe, but she didn't let my reputation effect how she treated me.
She is part of the reason I ended up becoming a teacher.

I would like to send my condolences to Dorothy's family. I know she will be greatly missed.
I taught with Dorothy forty years ago. I was a young beginning teacher who always appreciated her wisdom, wit and compassion. For those reasons I have never forgotten her, even though I moved away long ago.
