Remembering Kate. It has been many years since she and Dad (Fred Hedman) left us. They were born only a few days apart and they passed away only a few days apart. It might seem like an odd coincidence, but as cousins and fellow immigrants, they had a unique bond. We have their stories, unorthodox moments and quite a few inimitable photos to keep them in our minds and hearts. Peace to them both.

Another anniversary it been 9 years since you passed. CoCo Chanel is still being taken care of. She is on the couch standing up with another rescue named Alexis Colby.

Kate and Fred were cousins that followed each other throughout life's ups and downs after their mothers (who were sisters) emigrated from Norway. They enjoyed many good times and suffered through a number of struggles--sometimes together, sometimes on their own--but they always stayed connected. As their illnesses became increasingly difficult, it was not possible to find a way for them to say goodbye to each other in person, but they did have a chance to talk on the phone. I would like to think it helped. They passed on within the same week of each other. A bittersweet conincidence, indeed. I hope the next journey is a good one.

In this time which comes to an close I still remember how much light you brought into my life this posting is about to close out 3 days from now on 1/16/13. The candle light will fade but not your memory. I still grieve.

Kate, you'll never know the many places and times I will think of you. I always loved seeing you and CoCo at Sunset Hill Park and then walking back to your house. We had some fun and intesting chats on those walks. Glad your mind is at rest knowing CoCo has a good home.
Miss you my dear friend,

Missing you dearly - all of your friends. Greg Walker, Mr. Fritz, Freida, Houndini and of course CoCo! I Understand that it is said: death is that state in which one only exists in the memory of others; which is why it is not an end. No goodbyes, just good memories. And I have lots of fond memories.
