Lyle Johnson Obituary
Lyle S. Johnson passed away on February 23, 2013 at the age of 82. Lyle was born in Thief River Falls, MN on August 15, 1930. He was the son of Anna and Edward Johnson, and brother of Delores, Arlene, Jeanette, Betty, Judy, Sharon, Earl, Wayne, Larry, Don (deceased), and Jim (deceased). Lyle grew up on the family farm, and after graduating from high school, moved to Seattle to live with his Uncle Rudy and Aunt Evy Helgeson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in Glennallen, Alaska. After returning to Seattle, he owned the Red Onion Tavern from 1959 to 1996.
Lyle was married to his loving wife Judy for 51 years. He was hard-working, congenial with everyone, and loved his family above all else. His family respected him and will miss him deeply. Lyle is survived by his wife Judy, his children Lorrie, Ron, and Tim Johnson, his two grandchildren Delaney and Tierney, and siblings Earl, Wayne, Larry, Delores, Arlene, Jeanette, Betty, Judy, and Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Johnson, and brothers Don Johnson and Jim Johnson.
Lyle's life will be celebrated on March 5, 2013 at 1:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Washington and on March 9, 2013 from 1-5pm at the Red Onion Tavern in Seattle. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Children's Hospital Seattle special needs fund.

He will surely be missed & I am so grateful for the years we had together. I think we all looked up to Lyle & went to him if we needed advice. He was my walking partner when we went to the school bus.
