Raymond Roeder Obituary
Raymond Roeder, 82, joined the love of his life Sally on December 19, 2016. Born on December 9th 1934 in Prairie View Kansas, he served his country in the Korean war for the US Navy. Ray married Sally Hale in 1953 and they raised their family in Renton Washington. While not at work as a Captain at the Renton Boeing Fire Department, Ray was really all about family, they loved to go boating, water skiing, camping, and traveling to see family. After retirement he and Sally became snowbirds in Chandler Arizona, where they enjoyed traveling and golf.
Missing their family in Washington they moved to Orting and then to a new home in Puyallup. For the last year and a half they resided at Cedar Ridge Retirement in Bonney Lake.
Ray and Sally have 3 children Susan Markle, Greg(June), and Jeff (Daun). There are 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who adored their gramps.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Sally who passed away on October 15, 2016. In addition to his parents, a sister Ivalee Hawks, 2 brothers Norman,and Calvin Roeder.
He has 2 surviving siblings Neva Lee, and Melvin Roeder.
A memorial to honor Raymond and Sally will be held at Tahoma Natl. Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St Kent, Wa 98042 on Tuesday January 31st at 12:30 P.M.
A luncheon will be held immediately after at Nikkis Restaurant at 27120 174th PL SE Covington, WA 98042
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Amercian Cancer Society or Franciscan Hospice of Tacoma
Ray was know for his kindness, compassion, and generosity to others. A wonderful father, husband, grandpa, brother and uncle.
We will miss you forever.
