Mark Dunstan Obituary

Mark Kenton Dunstan II, 20, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, January 7, 2011, in Mountain View, Missouri from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident where he had fallen asleep and died dreaming of the people and things he loved.

On March 21, 1990 he was born in Osage Beach, Missouri to Mark Kenton Dunstan I and Melissa Renee (Cooper) Scritchfield.

Survivors include his parents, Mark Dunstan I and wife Tracy of Eldon, Missouri and Melissa Scritchfield and husband John of Nixa, Missouri; his sisters, Wendi Lynn Dunstan of Eldon, Missouri, Ciara Nicole Wood of Manhatten, Kansas, Hannah Joelle Lofton of Nixa, Missouri, Chloe BreAnne Lofton of Nixa, Missouri, Jennifer Renee' Scritchfield, of Nixa, Missouri, Kirsten Michelle Scritchfield of Nixa, Missouri; his grandparents, Ken & Patty Dunstan of Versailles, Missouri, Jan Dunstan of Sedalia, Missouri, Linda May of Eldon, Missouri, Ray McGhay Jr. of Latham, Missouri, Darrell & Karen Cooper of Eldon, Missouri, Dotty & Derrill Wood of Olathe, Kansas, Jim and Sharon Scritchfield of Cassville, Missouri; his great grandparents, Margret and Orville Alexander of Eldon, Missouri; numerous aunts and uncles.

Mark graduated 3rd in his class at Eldon High School in 2008, where he played the trombone in the High School Band and the Jazz Band. During High School he was also a 4 time recipient of the Kiwanis top 10% award, always made the A honor roll, was a member of track, cross country, Who's Who Among High School Students, S.A.D.D., National Society of High School Scholars, the Lake Area Community Orchestra, Missouri Lions Band, Prom Committee, Spanish Club, Science Club, National Honor Society, Drama Club, Academic Bowl, and he was his Senior Class Vice President. He was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church. During high school he worked at the Cree Mee. He attended Missouri S & T in Rolla, where he was in his 3rd year. He was majoring in Computer Engineering and played in the University Orchestra. He was currently employed at Quiznos in Rolla, Missouri.

He loved playing World of War Craft video game and enjoyed his online friends. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and moped. He also enjoyed shooting at the gun range and running. Mark was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and dearly loved the company of his many friends and family.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday January 12, 2011 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Eldon High School Commons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mark Kenton Dunstan II "Markie Mark" Educational Scholarship Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Missouri.
