Richard "Rick" Thomas McGlothlin
Richard "Rick" Thomas McGlothlin, 66, of Sun City Center, Florida, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at Life Path Hospice House. He was born on August 5, 1950, in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Harold and Darlene (Fine) Luckett.
In 1968, he graduated from Harmony High School in Farmington, Iowa. On June 7, 1969, at United Methodist Church in Richmond, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Cindy Zullig. This union was blessed with the gift of a son, Christopher Thomas.
He was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Bellville, Illinois. He had worked in the body shop for Swafford Ford in Richmond, Missouri, Ag Co-Op, Mid Continent and Schwan's Ice Cream in Sedalia, Missouri, and as chief of the long-term storage facility for the Civil Service Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO), retiring in 2008.
He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, friend, and all around great guy. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed many games with his son, Chris. He was very active in La Monte, Missouri, summer ball and helped start the local rec volleyball program, where he touched many young people's lives. He had a mean Wiffle ball curve and was a master of the Dominoes Mexican Train.
He is survived by: his wife, Cindy McGlothlin of the home in Sun City Center, Florida; his mother, Darlene Luckett of Fort Madison, Iowa; his son, Christopher Thomas McGlothlin of Sun City Center, Florida; two sisters, Sharon Moeller and her husband Rodney of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Donna Luckett of Burlington, Iowa; his brother, Bob Luckett and his wife Martha of Greenville, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Zullig and his wife Karen of Sedalia, Missouri, and Ronnie Zullig and his wife JeanAnn of Gilroy, California; eleven nieces and nephews, Santasha, Tiffany, Barry, Adam, Morgan, Nathan, Traci, Miekka, Eric, Allison, and Bobby; several great-nieces and nephews; and two Yorkies, Dusty and Willy and a Chihuahua, Ally.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Luckett, his father and mother-in-law, John and Betty Zullig, and a nephew, Chad.
A celebration of life and time of sharing service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Celebration Center in Sedalia, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Downing officiating and where the family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Military honors by the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, in the Krause Room at Union United Methodist Church, 721 E. Main, Belville, Illinois.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the Eagles Club, 4821 Avenue O, Fort Madison, Iowa.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Life Path Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida, or Union United Methodist Church in Belville, Illinois, in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, Missouri.
