Theodore Perez Obituary

Theodore M. Perez

The Salt of the Earth

Devoted, Loyal, Earnest and Honest

Ted passed away on December 25, 2013, joining his beloved wife, Sherry, who preceded him to Heaven this past June.

He was born in San Francisco's North Beach to William and Emma Perez on June 11, 1944.

Ted attended Saints Peter's and Paul's, then Sacred Heart High School, graduating in 1962. Following high school, he went to work for his uncle at A. Selli Plumbing as an Apprentice and becoming a Journeyman in 1973. Having mastered his trade, he started his own company, Ted Perez Plumbing, in 1984. Even as he worked tirelessly to complete his apprenticeship, Ted also served his country in the United States Coast Guard Reserves, beginning in 1965 and earning his Honorable Discharge in 1971.

It was during these years of learning a trade and service in the USCG that Ted met the love of his life, Cheryl "Sherry" Peoples. Ted and Sherry were married in 1968 and spent nearly 45 years together. Although Ted and Sherry had no children of their own, they devoted their lives, love and attention to their family and friends, never forgetting a birthday, providing a warm home to all, giving sound advice and a helping hand when needed.

In addition to Sherry, Ted was preceded by his father, William and his nephew, Jeffery Erichson. He is survived by his mother, Emma and brother, William (Carol) Perez, brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott (Susanne) Peoples, Debbie (Frank) Erichson and Susan Peoples, nieces and nephews, Lisa (Scott) Peterson, Laura Perez, Joaquin (Kristin) Perez, Natalie and Christian Erichson, Nicole and Theresa Peoples, grand nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Angelique Korobi, Henry Perez, Sabrina and Sophia Muhleis-Perez.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on January 18, 2014 at Saint Mary's Church, Town Square, Nicasio, CA. A reception will follow at the Druid's Hall in Town Square. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 4777, NYC, NY 10163 or to your favorite charity. PEACE BY UPON YOU... AND ALL YOUR LOVED ONES

Stephen Powers

January 25, 2014

Good bye Ted. I like to think of you being with Sherry because I can never think of you apart. You were solid as a rock, always reliable, friendly, supportive, and someone a person could call if they were in trouble, or needed anything. It was sad to see you all near the end of your life, but that sorrow is magnified in happiness and relief that you are no longer suffering and reunited with the one you loved. You were so good together. Love you and miss you. See you in the hope we all shared. Peace.
