I remember for years when I lived in SSF, Uncle would stop by every tax season to have me prepare his returns. Once done, we would "talk story" for a bit. He was an integral part of my life having gotten me interested in playing drums and tennis. I will always remember his love for Jazz music and the way he would sit at my Mom's piano and create these atonal chords and smile away.....miss you Unc

I was just thinking about my Uncle Ralph the other day watching the Serena Williams US Open match. It reminded me of a morning in Oakdale, Ca when he and I found a tennis court and played an epic three set match. I had been playing tennis for about 3years and one of my goals was to beat my Uncle Ralph. He was the master of the spin shots and 2 hours later, I barely bested him (I think he let me win a couple of points just to get out of the hot sun!). I'll never forget that moment in time, thanks for showing me how to play drums Uncle, and you're forever in my heart. Say hi to Mom, Dad, and Joe for me.

From Mike Becker former Western Airline Airfreight 1960's...I am so thankful this treasured information was forwarded to me.
Our family shares his passing and prays for him and all of your family.
Ralph was the first person I worked with at Western in the mid sixties.
I had just turned 21. He was so full of energy, non stop information and technique. He helped me understand what needed to be done every day and what special things to look for. With this fast immersion and in his rapid style.
I found out that I was half his age and couldn't keep up. Not at first. It did help me in the long run to go on for 20+ more years in San Francisco and Los Angeles with Western.
It was a few months before I learned of the circumstances of his exit from Burma.
Because of what he described, I could relate it to my relatives lucky enough to be escaping Nazi Germany before and during WWII and in Russia earlier in the century.
He always warmly talked about family, his loving wife and stories about each child, freedom, music and dancing.
My short years in Air Freight were made special by him. His integrity, work ethic, zest for family and freedom in the USA made it that way.
Thank You Lord for sending Ralph to us at Western; as an inspiration to us to recognize and be more sensitive to oppression of peoples, for bringing his spark of life to us not yet married or with children and showing us that hard work not only is ok, but it can be done with a zest for life.
His page, this page will be kept alive by his memory forever. It will not have an ending date. As many people can add to this and forever.
With Gratitude For His Life,
Mike Becker and Family

Uncle Ralph was a happy traveler and he spread his joy wherever he went. He had many addresses (i.e., Burma; Bombay; United States; Pierce St., in San Francisco; Gillert St., in Daly City); but the best is now – in Heaven, where his Father and Auntie Lillian have prepared a glorious place for him.
Grieve for a while, Auntie Coral and Cousins, but rejoice that Uncle is celebrating a reunion with his Father, relatives and friends. We will miss him but will remember him fondly forever.

Dear Cousins, Your Dad made quite a few address changes in his life (i.e., from Burma to the U.S., to Pierce St., to Gillert and now the best one of all - to Heaven!) I'm sure God and Auntie Lillian have moved him in and are giving him a jazzy welcome. Keep his smile alive. Love, Patti & Sterling
