Thank you for reminding me of Joe - a great friend of Ireland and the Donohoe clan. He was very pleasant company and made a huge contribution by researching and informing us of our heritage. He is fondly remembered here in Ireland.
Warmest regards to Anita

I am so sad to have just heard of Joe's passing. We made many friends in Dublin and Cavan. Many of his Dublin friends had been trying to make contact with him for sometime. We now know he is at rest. He was loved and respected by all of his Irish friends. I first met him at the Donohoe Clan gatherings, (Donohoe is my maternal name) and several times in Dublin, Gilroy and San Fransisco.
May he rest in peace

In 1970 I met Joe through common genealogical interests. For four decades we have had occasional friendly contact; his last e-mail was in February and mine in April. He was always forthcoming to help my researches and I tried to return his kindnesses. I'll miss that I can't call him and perhaps visit his Russian Hill apartment. The last time he visited me the dinner was a disaster! I hoped to make that up some day. RIP

As one of his English cousins I think I speak for all of us. We will miss his wit, gentleness and, on a personal note, his wonderful knowledge of family history. It's sad to think I won't be able to pick up the phone and hear his voice. If only I had done it more often.

Dear Joe, he not only was guardian of the Parrott family history (with Aunt Barbara) but was the bridge between SF and the European cousins (Douglas Dicks in UK). We will always be pleased to welcome any family and friends coming to London in memory of Joe, whose kindness and gentle humour enriched our lives.

Shocked and saddened to hear of this, and my sympathy to Jeffrey and all the family at this much-too-soon loss. He will be greatly missed by so many, and my love and condolences go out to his partner and his family.

For the French cousins (de Tristan, de Lambilly)this time of the year was that when the hope of seeing Joe V show up on our doorstep might be fulfilled. This will no longer happen and our very private "voice of San Francisco"is henceforth to be silent. His memory however will remain forever in our hearts and our prayers. What a sad day..

We will miss Joseph - we worked together for several years since he became the owner of the South Valley Medical Pavilion in Gilroy. He was always very professional, and it was a pleasure working with him for the sucess of the medical building. He will be missed. Pat Cordich/Pacific Oak Properties, Inc.
